Black Mamba

This black mamba (Dendroaspis polylepis) is also getting the irrigation treatment.

Note that the pink tissue showing in this snake's mouth is abnormal for this species and indicates injury. Black mambas are named not for their external color, which is actually a chocolate brown, but for the black pigmentation in their mouths which they are not reluctant to put on full display when they feel threatened.
